A visa is not required to visit Belize, but you must have a passport valid at least beyond the length of your trip.
Is tipping customary in Belize?
While tipping is not expected, it is always appreciated. Anywhere from 10-20 percent of a bill or service would be considered a good tip.
What is internet access like in Belize?
Whether or not you have internet access in Belize depends largely on where you're staying - the larger, modern, or luxury hotels, tend to offer high-speed WiFi in the rooms, while smaller boutique hotels might only offer it at a computer in their lobby (if at all), and cruise vessels will probably not have it at all. But don't worry - this allows you to focus on the experience, and disconnect from your worries.
Can I use my cell phone while in Belize?
Yes, you can get a pre-paid SIM chip to put in an unlocked smartphone, and the two main carriers in Belize are Digicell and Smart. However, we recommend that you simply leave the WiFi turned on and connect when you find a hotspot, and otherwise just leave the phone in your suitcase!
What are the toilets like in Belize?
The toilets in Belize are generally the western style flushing toilets, however, it is possible that in the more isolated parts of the country on day-excursions the only available bathrooms will be out-house style latrines. You should not throw the waste paper in the bowl of the toilet but rather in the garbage basket next to it to prevent clogs.
