Mediterranean on the
Galileo, a 157-foot classic steel motor sailer built to accommodate 49 guests on small-ship cruises to Greece.
Launched in 1992, the Galileo cruise ship is a classic pick for a voyage on the Aegean. Owned by Variety Cruises, it was rebuilt in 2007 and renovated in 2016, giving passengers a modern cruise experience while maintaining the old-world prestige of a historic sailboat.
As a motor sailer, the vessel mostly runs on motor power, but good weather and ideal routes allow her to unfurl its white sails for cruising on certain days.

Galileo Amenities
Indoor Lounge Area: A lounge with an American bar is a guest favorite at the Main Deck. With large portholes and magnificent sea views, the room is a cozy hangout for drinks and good conversation.
Dining Room: Also on the Main Deck, the spacious dining room is where guests enjoy all onboard meals. Classic interiors of warm woods and carpets highlight Galileo’s old-world beauty, while large portholes keep the space bright and pleasant. It is large enough to fit all guests in one seating.
Sun Deck: The sun deck offers the best spot onboard to bask in the atmosphere of your sun-soaked Galileo Greece getaway. Sunbeds, deckchairs, and shades create the perfect space for sunbathing, reading a good book, or gazing out at the Mediterranean scenery.
Outdoor Bar & Lounge: A second outdoor deck on the Upper Deck provides another area for guests to enjoy a drink against the backdrop of the sea. The open layout makes this the ideal spot for mingling with fellow passengers.
Other amenities on the Galileo cruise ship include a mini-library and board games. Guests may also enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming whenever the boat moors.

Galileo Ship Reviews
For many travelers joining Galileo vacations, the highlight was visiting secluded islands, swimming, and exploring the sites. While cabins were compact, passengers were pleased that accommodations were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The crew was attentive and efficient.
