The Best Time to visit Gustavia

Between mid-late November and March is widely considered the best time to visit Gustavia and the greater St. Barts because this is winter in many parts of the world but it's warm, sunny, and beautiful on the island. The downside of traveling during this time of year is activities and hotels will be more expensive and will fill up quickly so it's highly recommended that you plan your trip at least six months in advance.

Between April and June is also an excellent time to visit Gustavia because the weather is still sunny and warm but it can be occasionally interrupted by short storms. The benefits of traveling during this season though are there are much fewer crowds, lodgings will be cheaper, and activities will be less expensive as well. Also, although it's recommended you book at least three months in advance for the best hotel and flight rates; you can get away with not doing that.

July and August offer the best prices for activities and lodgings but this is the beginning of the hurricane season which means if you can find a hotel that's open during these months, you'll get an extremely large discount. Although this marks the beginning of hurricane season the rains aren't terrible and you'll still be able to enjoy quite a few sunny days on the beach or walking around the city.

Between September and early November is the worst time to visit Gustavia and the greater St. Barts because this is the peak of hurricane season and it's extremely unlikely you'll even be able to find a hotel at this time. There are constant rains and threats of hurricanes until mid-November, at which point tourists begin to start visiting again. If you do find a hotel during this time the prices will be extremely low and there will be almost no crowds in the city.
