Max Passengers: 126
Ship Type: Expedition Cruise Ship
Operated by: Lindblad Expeditions

The National Geographic Endurance is the sister ship of the National Geographic Resolution, a 126-guest revolutionary polar expedition ship. It was named after Ernest Shackleton's ship and sailed across Antarctica and the Arctic. This ice-class Polar Code PC5 (Category A) vessel is fully stabilized, fortified, and built to navigate polar routes year-round. With an X-BOW®, the boat's signature wave-slicing motion provides an extraordinarily smooth ride in any condition and even reduces spray on the deck for better observation. Her features include a complete set of exploration tools and comforts to improve the overall adventure.

The National Geographic Endurance set sail on her inaugural voyage in July 2021, on a 19-day journey to Iceland & Greenland, and was christened by Jen Martin and Ana Esteves.

This vessel features an observation lounge with a bar, a gym, a wellness space, infinity-style outdoor hot tubs, a library, the main lounge with a full-service bar and 24-hour beverage service, as well as a photo workshop area for passengers to enjoy during their downtime. Additionally, expedition tools such as Zodiac landing craft, kayaks, snowshoes, and cross-country skis are available, as well as underwater specialists operating a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), an underwater video camera for unparalleled access to the polar marine world, a hydrophone, a remote-controlled aerial camera, and a video microscope.

Off-ship exploration will be significantly increased by a unique expedition boat boarding system located aft and midship on both sides. This system will allow everyone to get ashore swiftly and safely, ensuring speedy access to all destinations.

Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
