Max Passengers: 126
Ship Type: Expedition Cruise ShipOperated by: Lindblad ExpeditionsAs a Polar Class 5 (PC5) vessel, the expedition ship
National Geographic Resolution was designed with polar navigation in mind. In rough weather, the innovative X-bow® with powerful wave-slicing action gives an incredibly smooth ride that also lowers spray on deck for better observation. A twin to the National Geographic Endurance, she carries a full suite of expedition tools and offers a variety of experience-enhancing amenities.
National Geographic Resolution can comfortably seat 126 passengers in 69 cabins with windows that open to the outside. Cabin sizes range from a 140-square-foot solo cabin to a 430-square-foot category 7 suite. A total of 53 of the 69 cabins, including all 12 solo cabins, will have modest balconies with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, allowing for an abundance of natural light and breathtaking views.
Guests can unwind in the vessel's observation deck, which contains a bar, a gym, a wellness center, an infinity-style hot tub, a library, the main lounge with a full-service bar, and a photo workshop. Zodiacs, kayaks, cross-country skis, and a remote-operated vehicle (ROV) are just some of the expedition tools enabling unique access to the polar marine world, as well as a hydrophone remote-controlled aerial camera and video microscope.
The christening of the National Geographic Resolution ship took place on November 22, 2021, in Antarctica's Duse Bay, Weddell Sea. Captain Heidi Norling, Lindblad Expeditions' first female international fleet captain, christened the brand-new polar vessel.
