Flanking the Galapagos Islands on the eastern side is San Cristobal. Home to the capital city of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, you will find an array of exciting and active things to do here, including mountain biking, hiking, and some of the best surfing in the Galapagos Islands. It is also home to the Interpretation Center and one of the archipelago's three airports. Flying into San Cristobal is an excellent choice if you are departing for a cruise of the eastern or southern islands.
Puerto Baquerizo Moreno & San Cristobal Island Trip Highlights
One thing any Galapagos explorer quickly learns is that although this is just one archipelago, each island seems to have its own personality and attractions that are distinct and unique to just that island, including even their own endemic species of flora and fauna. Here are a few of the things to do around the capital of the Galapagos:
Pitt Point
Cerro Brujo
Kicker Rock
Lobos Island
Tijeretas Hill
Interpretation Center
El Junco Lagoon
The San Cristobal Airport in Eastern Galapagos
The San Cristobal Airport is one of two airports that connect the Galapagos Islands with mainland Ecuador, and the rest of the world.
Located just a couple of minutes outside of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (you can take a taxi for a few dollars), San Cristobal Airport (SCY) receives multiple daily flights from both Guayalquil and Quito.
All Galapagos cruises begin and end either here or at Seymour Airport (GPS) on Baltra Island. Some cruises arrive to Galapagos at one airport and depart from the other airport.

I am a returning client to Adventure Life and am very pleased with their commitment to put together a great trip. Clara replied and clarified to any and all questions we had.

Jessica was very responsive to my questions and never balked when I asked her to go back and find more options. She really worked hard to find the right cruise for us.

Adventure Life took care of a lot of details for me because I flew separately and met up with the group at the start of the trip. On the return they dropped me off in Cantania and flew back to the UK as one group.
I was the only American on the Exodus trip which was not a problem. Communication between the two companies was good.

We loved our time aboard the Angel. Beautiful boat and crew. Naturalist Jose Luis was incredible-very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He adapted tours to our group and we all had an amazing trip. Love staying a the quaint hacienda and the recommended activities.
