Skorpios Cruises is a family enterprise founded in 1978 by Constantino Kochifas Cárcamo, a shipbuilder and entrepreneur from the South of Chile, who developed this family tourist business, and turned it into a national and international product. At present, the company has one of the largest shipping fleets in the Southern Cone. M/V Skorpios I was built in 1978, the company’s first tourist vessel and the first tourist vessel to operate in Chile. Skorpios Cruises' mission is to turn Chile and Patagonia into a great international tourist destination, by offering a top-level professional tourist cruise service and faithfully conserving the hospitality of the people of Patagonia.
ROUTES
Skorpios has 2 routes: The Chonos Route from Puerto Montt to the Glaciar San Rafael, operated by M/V Skorpios II in the Northern Ice Field. Kaweskar Route, from Puerto Natales to the glaciers of the Southern Ice Fields, operated by M/V Skorpios III.
ELECTRICITY
220 electric power, but there are shipboard transformers for 110 volts for domestic use.
SHIPYARD
Skorpios has its own shipyard in the town of Puerto Montt, which guarantees our efficient maintenance operations for the timely departure of our cruises.
INCENTIVES
Skorpios offers incentive corporate cruises on its routes: Request information on fees and dates, and ask for a special brochure.
ADDITIONAL NIGHT
According to the established fee, the Friday prior to sailing for the Chonos Route, and for the Kaweskar Route, on a Monday prior to the departure date or on Thursday at the Hotel Remota or similar accommodation; it includes a tour to the Torres del Paine and Cueva del Milodón.

Chonos Route:
Spring – Autumn (low season) between 8° and 18°C, Summer (high season) between 12° and 22° C.
Route Kaweskar:
Spring – Autumn (low season) between 6° and 12°C, Summer (high season) between 10° and 15°C.
LAUNDRY
The shipboard laundry service only covers small items of clothing.

Meals are served at the table in a single shift; buffet service for breakfast and farewell dinner.

EXPLORATION
Cruceros Skorpios goes to the glaciers on special exploration boats, we do not use inflatable Zodiac boats.
SHOPPING
We have a small store with typical travel supplies: postcards, batteries, T-shirts, hats, sweaters, parkas, etc. You can also buy local handicrafts when visiting fishing villages.
TV
Our ships have closed-circuit television that shows bilingual films and receives a TV signal in some parts of the cruise Furthermore in order to keep a record of passenger activities, everything is filmed with HD professional digital cameras. The cruise video is edited and offered to our passengers in DVD format.
TELEPHONE
Skorpios has a satellite telephone which reaches every corner of the earth, according to the fee agreement established in each ship.
GASTRONOMY
Skorpios gastronomy and cuisine are special, with a fixed menu of Patagonian dishes based on meat, fish, and seafood. Nonetheless, if a passenger wishes to change the menu, this is done at no extra cost. The Captain’s farewell dinner offers a Patagonian buffet.
BAR
Open bar at no additional cost, offering national and imported wines and liquors.
Our guide and driver were very good with their knowledge and were very helpful with our questions. It was a very pleasant visit that would have been impossible to do on our own. Hotels and restaurants were fantastic. The special places we got to go to, like the kitchens, were great. Enjoyed the entire trip!
