Max Passengers: 199
Ship Type: Luxury Expedition Ship
Operated by: Quark Expeditions

Introducing the Ultramarine, Quark Expedition's newest vessel, designed to take polar exploration to new heights, takes passengers on a journey of discovery and discovery of new destinations.

More than any other expedition ship of its size, Ultramarine is equipped with two twin-engine helicopters that offer the most extensive polar adventure activities, the most spacious suites, and the most magnificent public spaces. As an added bonus, it has a unique combination of sustainability characteristics that far outpace the competition.

Prepared to give the ultimate arctic expedition experience, the new state-of-the-art polar vessel Ultramarine has set sail on a total solar eclipse inaugural voyage out of Ushuaia on December 23, 2021. Its Polar Class 6 accreditation and ice rating of 1A+ go hand in hand with Quark's new livery on the 199-passenger Ultramarine's sleek gray and white hull, which is highlighted by a bright yellow "Q" on the ship's superstructure.

Features and Amenities

Four Embarkation Points. It has never been easier to load and unload Zodiacs from the ship's starboard, port, and stern because of the new embarkation ports.

MAGS Advanced Sustainability Feature. The MAGS Micro Auto Gasification System (MAGS) transforms waste into energy at the source. MAGs eliminate garbage transportation's environmental impact, exceeding all industry norms.

Helicopters with Two Engines. Many more passengers may simultaneously take advantage of new destinations that can only be reached by air thanks to the ship's two twin-engine helicopters operated from two helidecks.

Zodiac Hangar Water Level. Guests may now disembark in half the time it normally takes them to do so on other ships, using Ultramarine's twenty Zodiacs, which can be rapidly and safely deployed from an internal Zodiac hangar. Guests can go on more spontaneous excursions and get closer to the wildlife.

Ultramarine's Wraparound Deck. Located on Deck 5, it offers a wide range of views of the arctic landscapes and the chance to catch a glimpse of animals.

The Panorama Lounge and Bar offer unobstructed views of the breathtaking surroundings while providing a relaxing atmosphere. Your Expedition Team's presentations will be displayed on a state-of-the-art high-resolution LED screen wall in the main auditorium from any angle. The two ready rooms are designed for efficiency, with wider hallways, ample seating, and proximity to services. Additionally, there is a spa, sauna, and gym.

Dining

In addition to the main dining room on Deck 5, Ultramarine includes a smaller Bistro section on Deck 7. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the Bistro will serve lighter dishes all day.

The Promenade Deck is just a short walk away from the restaurant so that you can catch a glimpse of the ship's fauna right from the comfort of your table. The restaurant even has its own dedicated Wine Bar so that all visitors can be seated at the same time and have a great dining experience.

This was our first trip to South America and we were a little nervous. But Adventure Life made things so easy! All our questions were answered before we left, and our guide, Vidal, was amazing! He gave us enough space to explore without rushing us along. He also knew where the best picture taking opportunities were, which was great.
