Ancient rain forests, jungle wildlife, picturesque coastal 'kampung' (villages), a culinary melting pot: Borneo is calling!

Involves minimal physical effort and is typically associated with leisurely activities. Activities are low-intensity or last less than a few hours each day.
Morning arrival in Kota Kinabalu, the capital of the Sabah region and also often called KK. We have two full-day optional excursions in today’s program. A) A day excursion by air to Sandakan in North Borneo for a full day at the Sepilok Orang Utan Reserve and Sun bear Rehabilitation Center. Alternatively, you can select B) the Kinabalu World Heritage National Park and to Poring Hot Springs tour in the area of the Kinabalu mountain, Southeast Asia's highest mountain. A 41-high canopy walk will allow you to admire Borneo’s fauna and flora. Return to the vessel for dinner and departure to Brunei.
Day 3: Brunei - Bandar Seri Begawan, Sultanate of Brunei
Today you will discover the Sultanate of Brunei 2 facets with your full-day optional tour. First Brunei's countryside and the rural life of the Dusun, Iban and Kedayan indigenous people. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and an Ngajat traditional dance performance. Return to town and revel at the Royal Regalia Museum and other intricate monuments and palaces. Overnight at sea to Miri
Early morning disembarkation. This morning choose between two excursions. A) Our full-day optional excursion will take us on a scenic drive to the Niah National Park, through oil palm plantation and past Iban longhouses. Visit the Niah Museum which houses some of the relics from Niah Caves, an important archaeological site where the first human existence in S.E. Asia was found in 40,000 B.C. Alternatively, you may choose our B) full day Lambir Hill National Park, Latak Waterfall and Iban longhouse optional excursion. In the evening we sail to Bintulu. Overnight at sea.
Day 5: Bintulu, Malaysia
Morning arrival in Bintulu. Our optional excursion will take us to Similajau National Park, 30 km from Bintulu, by the sea. Our trek through the park will start with a crossing of the Sungei Likau River. The park’s fauna boasts 24 recorded species of mammals, such as gibbons, banded langurs and log-tailed macaques and 185 species of birds. Later we will drive back to Bintulu and we will stroll through Pasar Utama and Pasar Tamu markets. Back to the ship for a late lunch. Overnight at sea to Mukah- Sibu.
Optional full-day excursion in Sibu and the Rajan River the largest river of Malaysia. Located at the confluence of the Rajang and Igan Rivers, the city’s local life centers around the river busy with river taxis and floating grocery stores. Spend the morning in town, strolling around Old Sibu markets and visit an iconic 7-story Chinese Pagoda, and learn about the handmade longevity noodles production. After lunch go up the river with fast boats in Iban territory. Late evening return to Sibu and Mukah - Overnight at anchor.
Disembarkation and optional half-day excursion in Mukah and the Melanau Heartland home of the Melanau. Visit Lamin Dana, a traditional Melanau house built above the water. Marvel at their intricate costumes and handicraft. Later we will visit the Sago Factory Chimney, the famous 19-th century chimney of the Sago Palms Factory. Overnight at sea to Kuching.
Today, choose one of our two-morning optional excursions from Kuching a) Bako National Park or b) Kuching city tour & the Semenggoh Wildlife Center. A) Our optional excursion will take us to the Bako National Park, in search for the world-famous proboscis Monkeys, long-tailed macaques, Borneo bearded bigs and monitor lizards. B) Optional Kuching city tour & the Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Observe the techniques developed for the rescue, rehabilitation, retraining and eventual relocation of Orang Utans into their natural habitat. After lunch return to Kuching city for a guided tour showcasing the heritage of the city, admire the Kuching Waterfront, the Tua Pek Kong Temple, the Chinese History Museums and the Sarawak Museum of Art and Natural History. In the afternoon we board the Panorama II and sail to nearby Lakei Island for an afternoon of relaxation. Overnight at port.
